Petty Island Site Project

Location: London, England

The group's goal is to design an attractive and sustainable community that can be the future of Petty Island. While sustainability is a very important design strategy to take, we tried to surround our design with the thought of connected communities and sustainability. Doing an extensive site analysis, we decided we wanted minimal destruction of the existing forests. We want the community to focus on the history of the island, while also looking into the future of the island and the world. We wanted to minimize car traffic, while focusing on density with mixed-use buildings. The island will be ran on renewable energies using solar roadways, solar panels and tidal energy. The extensive use of green spaces will create a very pleasant community.
